What is this all about?
Music has always played a major role in my life. It's been there when I work, when I relax, when I have fun and when I need a pick-me-up.
I've created this site to share some of the songs that have been part of this journey.
Some of these have major memories and significance attached to them. Others I may have just discovered recently and liked them enough to want to share them.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
How does it work?
Every day, roughly in the morning (UTC-ish time), I add a new song to the site, along with some comments about why I chose it. At the same time, it gets posted to Bluesky and sent over email to the subscribers of the Daily Song newsletter. It also appears in this site's RSS feed.
Some days, songs may come in later in the day, specially if I'm traveling or otherwise busy.
Why is there a newsletter?
Because I made one.
When I first started this, I also wanted to test some features I was working on for my job. So I've decided to build a newsletter to go along with it. Two, actually, as I understand many people would prefer to not receive an email every day but may still be interested in music recommendations, so there's also a Weekly Summary newsletter.
How long will this last?
No idea.
This is a fun project that I created firstly for myself. There is no revenue, no ads, no tracking, no growth hacking. I'm not posting songs that I necessarily think will be popular, I'm just posting songs that I like. If other people like them too, that's great!
I listen to a lot of music, so hopefully I'll have enough repertoire to keep this going for a while. I also try to avoid repeating the same artist or album too often, but that is a loose rule (well, there are no rules, really, but you get the idea).
Researching songs to post here is also a great way to remember songs I've used to listen to and enjoyed, and have since forgotten about. So, many times, the recommendation is also for myself!
If I decide to stop posting, I'll probably still keep this around as an archive. And I may come back to it in the future. For now, we keep going, a song every day.
Probably I should have started with this: Who are you?
I'm Alexandre Cisneiros!
